February March 2009: Editorial

Brrrr as the cover comments, it’s been so cold.  I don’t mind the cold, but the wind really does seem to have been quite mean for the past few weeks.  Also could someone explain to me the mysterious forces in place that always make it rain at 8.50am and 3.20pm i.e. walking to school time, what is that about?  The amount of times I’ve got ready to walk to school, looked out the door—thought it’s dry, set off and then been rained on!

I hope you all had a nice holiday season, it wasn’t particularly restful in this house, but it was lots of fun  - and at least the children didn’t wake the grandparents up at 4am on Christmas day this year.

Again there is lots to read in this edition, a particularly beautiful poem this edition by Rasik Bhadresa can be found on P 22 , lots of activities are planned at the Brantham Leisure Centre on P 10, perhaps one of the Spring concerts at St Michael’s church is your kind of thing.  Do read the moving tribute to Benny Aldous which can be found on P 7.

A few editions ago the Bugle launched its own web page and at the time I asked if anyone could help regarding loading information onto it.  I did get an offer of help but unfortunately they weren’t able to proceed.   Also you may have noticed that the November/December edition of the Bugle isn’t on the site, this is due to me having no internet connection during that time!  So I’m asking again for some help, if your able to give a couple of hours (and really that’s all it is) and have an internet connection, please do get in touch.  It’s not at all technical, you don’t have to learn programming code or anything like that, it’s just copy and paste.

Again we welcome some new businesses advertising in the Bugle, I do hope your adverts prove successful!
