October November 2008: News - Brooklands School

Welcome to our school news, sorry about the mix up with the last article, the wrong August September piece was published!

Unfortunately at this time I cannot share our KS2 results with you, as I have for the last couple of years.  You may have heard on the news that there are some marking difficulties and the results are late in this year.  This is very frustrating; although we have given pupils some results the complete school set are not online and therefore unconfirmed for the time being.  So much has been in the press about this I am sure you are aware of the situation. Early indications would lead us to believe that our pupils have once again achieved very well and the upward trend of the school is still advancing, congratulations to them.

Looking ahead I thought I would share some of the exciting events on our calendar.  Our Y5 pupils and our Y6 pupils are awaiting their residential adventures planned over the next couple of weeks.  We look forward to seeing their adventures caught on film.

Four members of our staff are gearing up to take their Level 3 outdoor education course this term; this will allow us to continue in our mission to become an accredited forest school. Alongside this, there is much excitement surrounding the growth of Personalised Learning and enhancing our Learning Platform. The school continues to evaluate and reflect ensuring that the initiatives explored are those that will have a positive impact on pupils and their families.

The 5th of December is our provisional date for the Christmas Fair please try to support us as the funds raised form these events have a huge impact on the provision of in school.

Finally, if anybody out there would be interested in a part time cleaning role at school please could they phone for an application pack.  The school will, as a matter of routine complete a CRB check and collect all references for any post in school.

Kind regards
